Producent BackupAssist przygotowuje się do wypuszczenia nowego dodatku – Exchange Granular Restore, który docelowo zastąpi obecny Exchange Mailbox Addon. W dużym skrócie produkt rozszerzy możliwości Mailbox Addon o bardziej zaawansowane opcje przywracania pojedynczych elementów poczty serwera Exchange do plików PST lub bezpośrednio do działającej bazy danych serwera poczty.
Wersja Beta pojawi się już 18.06.2013, a produkcyjna w okolicach końca sierpnia. Zapraszam do przyjrzenia się poniższym informacjom, które znacznie przybliżą możliwości i model licencjonowania nowego dodatku.
Co to jest Exchange Granular Restore (EGR)?
To nowy add-on dla BackupAssist, który dostarcza użytkownikom wydajne metody przywracania utraconych wiadomości i innych elementów z backupu bazy danych serwera Exchange.
Jak działa EGR?
Dla wielu przedsiębiorstw, które wykonują pełny backup swojego serwera, baza danych Exchange Server (.edb) jest zwykle dołączona do backupu. Ilustruje to Metoda A (Method A).
Dla firm, które używają Exchange Mailbox Addon dla BackupAssist, tworzone są zestawy plików PST, więc administrator może szybko odzyskać utracone wiadomości (Metoda C).
NOWOŚĆ: Dzięki EGR (Metoda B), firmy mogą korzystać z prostszej metody odzyskiwania utraconych wiadomości bez codziennych nakładów związanych z przetwarzaniem, przechowywaniem i zarządzaniem plikami PST. Możliwość przywrócenia utraconych wiadomości lub skrzynek do pliku PST będzie dostępna od początku (czerwiec 2013). Następnie dojdzie możliwość przywrócenia plików bezpośrednio do uruchomionego środowiska Exchange Server (październik 2013).

BackupAssist starał się znaleźć efektywną I wydajną metodą ochrony serwera Exchange 2013 dla swoich użytkowników. Od czasu gdy Microsoft usunął pewne komponenty z Exchange Server 2013, dotychczasowe rozwiązanie do backupu skrzynek (Metoda C) stało się niekompatybilne z najnowszą wersją microsoftowego serwera poczty.
